Teachers & Staff

Artistic Director  Michael Short  has been performing improv and comedy for nearly 18 years. He’s trained with such notable improv theaters as the Upright Citizen’s Brigade, the Magnet Theater, the Annoyance Theater, and the Second City. In 2014, he worked for Second City Theatricals performing sketch and improv aboard the Norwegian cruise lines. He’s excited to bring his experience to the improv community in the Hudson Valley.

Jeff O’Leary  is an improviser, actor and writer currently residing in Beacon, NY. Jeff received his improv training in Los Angeles at Second City and IO West, and in New York City at The Magnet and UCB. He has been a member of numerous indie improv teams, such as Goodnight Everybody and Jackson Trollop. Jeff is creator and star of his own improvised web series,  Principal O’Leary .

Lindsay Ostrander  found her start in improv in the Mount Saint Mary College troupe, Improvology. She became president and director of the group in fall of 2017. Lindsay has performed both short and long form improv and starred in productions of  The Laramie Project ,  Midsummer , and  The Women of Lockerbie .

Advisory Council

Will Luera  is the Director of Improvisation at Florida Studio Theatre, Director of Big Bang Improv and serves as the Artistic Director Emeritus of ImprovBoston. Will is co-creator of Healing Moments for Alzheimer’s, a non-profit organization that provides education, advocacy, and ministry for persons with dementia and their caregivers. Will tours globally as an improv and theater actor, director and instructor that performs and teaches regularly all across North America, South America, Europe and Asia.

He has traveled around the US and to Canada and Europe teaching and improvising, and offers workshops for festival organizers and local improv groups. He has also directed and co-written several scripted productions at Dad's Garage, including  Invasion: Christmas Carol  and  The Wrath of Con . He's a big fan of Atlanta and you should totally come sometime.
