In Next Level Improv, students will learn additional edit techniques (focus edits, tag-outs), and how to pull premises from a monologue openings. Students will put this all together to create the improv formats the Armando and the Mono-Scene.
Step onto the stage and sharpen your skills! Led by an experienced teacher, our drop-in workshops welcome students of all levels to explore the craft of improv. Learn to build razor-sharp focus and heighten any scene with just a few proven techniques. Limit 12 students | Ages 18+
Learn how to transform information between scene partners into gifts to enhance storytelling and build a shared reality. Fine tune the art of listening to small details onstage. Practice building recognition of emotional subtext, tone, and physical cues. Move beyond “waiting your turn to speak” to being changed based on your partner’s response. Stacey Venzel leads this skills-based class that focuses on listening/scene building, object work, & scene initiation.
